Fremantle Primary School boasts a long and rich history that is honored as well as shared and taught. Fremantle Primary School began in 1904 as Fremantle Infants and Intermediate school before changing to South Terrace State School and Alma Street Infants School in 1927.The first school buildings that were built by the former can be seen on the grounds of the hospital. In the 1960’s, we relocated to our present location as South Terrace Primary School, prior to becoming Fremantle Primary School in 2001. Continuous infrastructure improvements ensure that Fremantle Primary provides all families with the latest facilities and a warm learning setting.

 

Facilities

The school is situated between Fremantle Hospital and the beautiful Fremantle School Park, Fremantle Primary School is a warm and beautiful school located in a central location.

The latest additions to the school’s buildings include a brand new Early Childhood Centre and Arts Centre. The school now has an entirely new staffroom as well as restrooms (including accessible to all) and storage rooms. We have a brand new storeroom, toilets and universal access. Undercover Area was extended in the second quarter of 2015, and these additions included storerooms, cleaners and gardeners’ stores, as well as an in-school canteen.

The grounds have been upgraded and improved recently by adding a new playground natural play equipment, turf as well as vegetable garden. It is also possible to visit the ECE grounds also include new playground equipment, gardens and an impressive fort built of timber.

The school is well-equipped and students are able to access computers in the library of the school including iPads, interactive whiteboards, and iPads in every classroom.
