When you’re considering an aquatic sport or social club, you cannot pass up membership at Fremantle Sailing Club. It is located just minutes away from Fremantle’s town center along with the Perth CBD, Fremantle Sailing Club has a stunning waterfront location that overlooks ocean views of the Indian Ocean.

As the biggest Ocean club in Australia the sailing members of Fremantle Sailing Club have access to a variety of events, including competition sailing in a range of classes. Fremantle Sailing Club also has an active junior section and an Sailing Academy dedicated to introducing the new Generation of sailors the wonderful sport.

Other equally passionate groups are part of the Club with activity sections for people who are interested in Angling, Cruising and Game Diving, Fishing as well as Power Yachts. There is also an Pipes & Drums section, the only Pipe Band in the world belonging to a sailing group.

Members are also able to enjoy a lively social atmosphere off the water, and there are many social events that are held during the entire year. Members are also able to relax in the Club’s fantastic Galley Restaurant, Club Bar or at the Sunset Deck while enjoying the stunning views of the waterfront.

The elegant Clubhouse is a fantastic venue for private events with a range of rooms ideal for weddings, birthday celebrations or school balls , and other events that accommodate between 10 and 500 guests.

Fremantle Sailing Club Today: 2021

Through the years the Club has grown from growing stronger and evolved into the magnificent facility that you find today. This Club hosted numerous syndicates at the America’s Cup, and over time, has hosted many national and international events, including the Clipper “Round the World Race’. Sailors from Fremantle participate in national, state, and international competitions like Fremantle Club members Luke Parkinson who has competed in both the America’s Cup and the Volvo Ocean Race winning the 2014/15 edition in conjunction with Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing. In 2008 the Club had the 470 sailors Tessa Parkinson and Elise Rechichi took home Gold in the Beijing Olympics and in 2021 they will be competing in the 2021 Olympics. Club was fortunate enough to have three members: Matt Wearn (Gold Medalist in the Laser Men’s) and the 470 couple Nia Jerwood as well as Monique de Vries competing for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The Club is now home to more than 3000 members and over 900 boat owners, and more than 11 different activity sections that are active throughout the year.
