Fremantle Hospital is part of the Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group and is the largest hospital in Western Australia dedicated to providing high-quality aged healthcare, mental health secondary rehabilitation services, scheduled surgeries and other medical specialties. Fremantle Hospital is committed to providing healthcare that puts the patients as our primary goal. Our patient-centered philosophy ensures that our services are sensitive and respectful to the desires, needs and beliefs of the patients (and our customers). Fremantle Hospital does not have an emergency department. The closest emergency and accident services, including a 24 hour emergency mental health care is available by Fiona Stanley Hospital’s Emergency Department, located on Robin Warren Drive, Murdoch. Fremantle Hospital provides emergency mental health care all hours of the day, from 8.00am until 10.00pm all days of the week.
Fremantle Hospital is an Australian public hospital that is located in South Terrace in central Fremantle in southwest Perth, Western Australia.
It was once the largest hospital in the region However, following it’s opening Fiona Stanley Hospital in Murdoch on the 3rd of February 2015, the hospital was significantly reduced in size, including the closing of their emergency department, as well as various other services moving to the new facility.
The main building is located at Fremantle hospital is an historic location that looks out over the nearby harbor for fishing boats and The Port in Fremantle along with Fremantle’s Indian Ocean.

Fremantle Public Hospital opened in 1897, with 52 beds. The original building was an private residence “The Knowle”, built in 1856, using both stones and labourers coming from Fremantle Prison.

This Hyperbaric Medical Unit has been providing support services to divers in the entire state parts of Western Australia and clinical services to people who reside in the immediate region for more than 20 years.
The establishment the doors of Fiona Stanley Hospital, Fremantle Hospital has grown to a 300-bed facility that focuses on providing services like aged care, mental health secondary rehabilitation and palliative, and scheduled operations. There was a Kaleeya campus. Kaleeya campus was shut down, after the land was being sold in December 2014. The Rottnest Island Nursing Post was transformed into the external site of Fiona Stanley Hospital.
