Deep Water Point Reserve

Deep Water Point Reserve

Deep Water Point reserve in Mount Pleasant is a very well-known spot for boating, swimming and water activities, picnics, and birthday celebrations. In the last year the popular location has seen a number of major changes , and the final phase is now fully operational and was reopened last week. The upgrades include a new boating ramp, a new revetment work for the beach, a an improved climbing frame for kids as well as a brand new playground equipment, benches for picnics, BBQ pits and tables. The park also has a brand new Dome cafe on site.

The new play area specifically designed for youngsters, is now fully completed. It is situated next to the seating area adjacent to the Dome and adjacent to the climb rope structure. The new play space is a complement to the previous climbing frame that was designed for youngsters aged 5 and up. Children can now also enjoy their own space. Both play areas are within close proximity to Dome cafe.

The primary theme for the playspace is “Little Black Cormorant” that is usually found close to the waters around. The center of the structure is the most impressive of the black Cormorant. The play area is comprised of slides and logs, stepping stones the climbing bridge, as well as a small cubby house under the egg. My children loved the rubber balloons feature especially enjoyable, as it was shaped like an assault weapon. The first playground I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing this before.

Another awesome feature is the textural intertwine structure. It is a great sensory addition in the play area.

The new play area is a welcomed new addition to this area. Children of all ages are able to take advantage of the space. Also, if you’re at Deep Water Point Reserve, ensure you check and double-check the parking signage as they’re constantly changing (varies depending on the time of year and season).

The more mature playspace (located close to Dome Cafe) for kids has a climbing frame that includes “resting” pods. There are various heights and rope-based obstacles. The view from the top is stunning, with a view of the river. You might even spot dolphins. The climbing frame is best suited to children aged 3 and up I believe.

There’s also a set of swings on the other side , where there is a car park. There are now a variety and types of seat (including basket swings completely closed seat for toddlers, fully enclosed seat strap seat, boat seat in orange seats with straps for back support and straps) and caters to the needs of each child.

They also have updated the landscaping around the deep water point. There are plenty of lush, shady green areas to enjoy picnics as well as ball play, or simply for kids to play around.

There are picnic and park benches as well as barbecue pits close to each play area. The sandbanks area that is near the water is great for children to make Sandcastles as well as a great place to walk the dog to run around. There’s a path around the area that is perfect for riding and scooting.

One of the most significant additions to the deep water point is the brand newly built Dome Cafe. It’s probably the largest and the largest Dome Cafe in Perth. You can also book the entire area for private functions or parties.

We had a school play time the other day , and it was able to accommodate all 12 of us comfortably. The children were entertained with coloring sheets while adults enjoyed a an enjoyable conversation. In addition to the seating inside, there’s lots of outdoor seating options that are suitable for cyclists and pets.

The seats outside also have views of the grass and climbing area. The menu is quite extensive kids menuthat ranges including breakfast, lunch and drinks. After having coffee and breakfast, we went to play on the grass and then the older kids took a hike. It was the perfect location for the children to have a great delight.

Plenty of parking places in addition (you have to pay for parking if own an RV). However, I’d recommend to arrive early, as the place gets crowded particularly during the summer holidays. Once you’re in it’s pretty difficult to go home.

Deep Water Point Reserve has located very close to Perth Cash 4 Cars. you can check below Google Maps.
